One of the questions I get asked often is how much money a VA can make.
Well, the answer to that question is similar to the answer to this one: how long is a piece of string?
The fact is that when you are a small business owner, you are the one in control of how much you earn in your business.
If you want to have a small, part time business that allows you to be at home for your family and work around a busy schedule, then you can choose to do that.
If you want to work full time as a solopreneurs, and work only during regular business hours, and you just want to replace the income you would make outside in a corporate job, you can do that too.
If you want to get support in your business and build a team so you can service 10’s or 100’s of clients, and you want to earn 6-figures or more, you can do that as well.
It really is up to you how much you earn – that’s the beauty of being your own boss, and running your own business.
The key thing is that you need to be realistic about what you expect, and what you do to achieve it.
I’m not here to tell you that you will earn $100,000 or more in your VA business, but I’m also not here to tell you that it’s not possible. There are many kinds of business models you can incorporate to help you achieve that, and you can easily do that if it’s what you want to do.
I’m also not going to tell you what you ‘should’ be earning. The amount of revenue you bring in to your business depends on so many things that I couldn’t possibly predict.
But what I can tell you is that if you start with a strategy, put some goals in place, set your plan into action, and then hold yourself accountable to do what you said you would do, that you can earn whatever you want to in your business.
The key is the plan. If you don’t know where to start, you need to get help to figure that out. If you know where you want to go to, but you don’t know how to get there, you need to find out. If you know how to get there but you can’t keep yourself on track, you need to find someone to help you do that.
Accountability is the basis for any plan, and if you are wondering why you aren’t making the money you expected in your business, find out why not. And the start building a plan to get yourself from where you are to where you want to be.
