Business planning gets me jazzed up. It’s exciting to flesh out ideas and make plans to bring new and exciting programs to my network.
In short, it helps me know what I am doing to bring revenue (and more!) into my business.
Do you know what you are doing?
If you don’t have a clear picture of your purpose, keep reading!
So as I was doing some reading over the holidays, I came upon a course I had taken late last year about marketing.
One of the pieces of the program was to develop my Mission Statement.
I didn’t remember writing it, but it rang very true when I re-read my homework. (Imagine not remembering something so important!)
Here is the piece I came across:
Mission statement: What are you trying to accomplish, and why?
My response: I want to teach VAs how to market their business better so they can be more successful.
How? by providing education, inspiration, motivation, by teaching strategies and skills, and by providing resources to support the teaching I do, as well as being a sounding board for issues, problems and questions in our quest.
Voila. Bits for a mission statement, and I didn’t even remember it (talk about needing to slow down when taking training!)
So, here for you is my new mission statement … the ‘what’ I want to do, to help you in your business, and the ‘why’ too:
My mission is to provide education, inspiration and motivation to Virtual Assistants and Virtual Professionals to help them build and grow successful businesses. I will teach them the skills and strategies they need to know to market their businesses well, and I will support and mentor them through their training so that they can confidently build their business to help support the lifestyle they want to live.
That’s my promise to you in 2013!
I’d love to continue this conversation with you – let me know what you are working on, where you are stuck, and maybe I can help. Just send me an email tracey@yourvamentor.com.
