Favourite Tools for VAs: Dropbox

Dropbox is a cloud filing system I use in my business every day and I could never be without it! Dropbox allows you to save documents to a folder in the cloud as well as on your computer so you can access them anywhere. You can also share the files you want with clients or colleagues or even the general public. A couple of years ago I moved my entire business filing system into Dropbox so I can literally work from anywhere just by logging in. And the neat thing about Dropbox is that you can earn extra storage when you invite people to join. The price of about $100 per year is more than worth it for me for Dropbox… Read More »Favourite Tools for VAs: Dropbox

3 Tips to Keep VAs Focused and Productive

I have seen it happen a million times. You are trucking along, and things are going well. Business is booming and you have a full day of great tasks and the daily grind doesn’t seem like such a grind. But then, somewhere, somehow, things get out of hand. Maybe you have a client doing a product launch, or entering their busiest time of the year. Maybe it’s summertime and your family life is adding pressure with their demands. Maybe you are stepping up your own marketing and trying to fit it in to your daily routine. Whatever the reason, you wake up in the morning tired, you run all day long, and you drop into bed at night knowing that… Read More »3 Tips to Keep VAs Focused and Productive

Checking In: Assessment Time!

A friend/colleague of mine came over the other day to do a business strategy session. I was all set up to meet with her in our living room. I don’t often have people into my office because it’s not too big, and well, it’s a sea of papers some days. If we do need to be in the office, I make sure to do my filing. My desk is not too bad, but I have another desk that is a dumping ground (so sue me, I’m human!) LOL Well this particular day, I was stuck on a support chat at my PC which is … in my office. So I had to set our strategy session up in there at… Read More »Checking In: Assessment Time!

No Problem, I’ve Got It!

Everyone I talk to this summer seems to be running just to keep up. Is that you too? Probably. With the kids out of school and the nice weather beckoning us, anyone who works from home really can struggle with staying interested in work, and getting it all done. I don’t usually have that problem, but for some reason this summer the pool is calling to me, and I’m more interested in what my son & husband are doing outside my office. My clients are also on holidays here and there, and attending a lot of events lately. So our schedule is a little messed up from the steady ‘launch’ phase that preceded the summer months. So here are a… Read More »No Problem, I’ve Got It!

Taming the Email Monster

Last year I switched my email from Outlook Express (that downloaded onto my computer) to webmail. I had started to travel more and it made sense for me to have access to my stuff anywhere I was. But one problem occurred – I found that I didn’t keep a handle on how much email was actually in my inbox, simply because it wasn’t taking up space on my computer anymore. I used to delete mass amounts of email at the end of every month when I used Outlook Express. Well, occasionally I still do that with my webmail, but not often enough. I find it frustrating to search through my email to find stuff I need when there is just… Read More »Taming the Email Monster

One Thing To Do Now To Improve Your VA Business Marketing

I have been doing a lot of business planning lately, and I always come back to the same piece of advice – for myself and for other small business owners. Do you know what that one thing is? Planning! Planning is the most important part of any goal or strategy. In fact, if you can plan what you want to do, you will improve your marketing in various ways. You’ll improve: your overall message your clarity and focus your methods of communication and even just your habit and schedule Planning things doesn’t have to mean that you are structured and not able to be creative. On the contrary, actually. You can actually increase your creativity when you give yourself a… Read More »One Thing To Do Now To Improve Your VA Business Marketing

Your VA Mentor: Clear Your Brain Fog - and Bump Up Your Brain Power!

Clear Your Brain Fog – and Bump Up Your Brain Power!

I have been in ‘clean up’ mode lately. Part of that is due to the fact that I just rolled out a new program (my 50K VA Bootcamp). When I am building content for a program, I tend to grab all of my old notes from things I have taught before, as well as my ‘swipe’ file that contains new ideas that I want to implement in the program. In short, I kind of pull a lot of papers and books out of their hiding places. Once you do something like that, you can see just what it is you have been holding onto, and you can make the decision to use it or lose it. I made the decision… Read More »Clear Your Brain Fog – and Bump Up Your Brain Power!
