Stop what you are doing and just breathe.
If you are reading this, you are probably in front of your computer, or your phone … online.
The busy-ness of the days flies by with all of the technology in our faces and in our minds. We strive to keep up and we often run from task to task without really realizing that we are likely in need of a break.
So I want you to stop right now.
Breathe.
And regroup.
Think about what you have going on around you – in your business, I mean.
How many clients do you have? What type of networking are you doing? How is your marketing going?
Do you feel like you are running up a hill? Are you tired? Exhausted, even?
If you feel like that, I want you to take a step back.
Being tired out really has an effect on how you see yourself in your business.
I am here to tell you that you are better than you think you are!
But when we run from task to task, as so many of us do, we can forget how really GREAT we are!
Take out a piece of paper and write down five things you are really great at in your business. Go!
1. I am organized.
2. I am tech savvy.
3. I am a great project manager.
4. My attention to detail is amazing.
5. I have an awesome network of connections.
Maybe those aren’t yours, but you get the idea. Now look at yours. Make a nice, quick list.
Look it over and feel proud of yourself! (feel free to add more if you can think of them!)
You are better than you think you are. Even at those five things.
I read a quote recently by Edmund Lee that really resonated with me (you may have seen it on my Instagram).
Surround yourself with the dreamers and the doers, the believers and the thinkers, but most of all, surround yourself with those who see the greatness within you, even when you don’t see it in yourself.
This is SO important as a virtual professional. We are often alone, and so our impressions of how we are ‘doing’ every day can replace our positive mindset very quickly.
It’s really easy to get down on ourselves. Being tired is a huge issue, especially for those who work odd hours as you try to fit your family or job around your business. Not taking breaks is another. We often just keep plowing through to get stuff done. Saying yes to everyone despite wanting to say no is very big. Who wants to lose money? Right?
Then we can get overwhelmed. And it’s no one’s fault except our own. We need to surround ourselves with people who KNOW our greatness, and who tell us every single day.
So just in case no one told you today, I AM! You are better than you think you are.
Stop comparing yourself to other people. Stop feeling like you are ‘just a VA’. Change your mindset and you will change everything.
You are a business owner. You are the BEST at what you do! Your clients would be LOST without you. You make them better. You make them GREAT.
See how that works?
Take a break for 15 minutes and go outside for a walk, or just lie still with your eyes closed (I often lie on my office floor LOL). Quieting the noise in your head is so helpful to reset your brain.
When you have relaxed, digest that list again. Ask your clients, your colleagues, your family, what they think is GREAT about you. Write it down. Refer to it often.
You are SO much better than you think you are. Celebrate it!
