I saw you on Facebook yesterday.
Did you see me?
I’m kidding of course! But isn’t it neat that Facebook finally came up with something that turned its platform into an actual face-book?
Facebook Live came out a while back and it’s starting to take off … slowly, according to my newsfeed, but people are getting more comfortable with it.
I checked my pages the other day and I have access to it now. I’m not sure if I have for a while, but it’s there for sure.
So I intend to start using it. Soon. LOL.
Proscrastination is a big part of my video stuff.
It seems to be the same for a lot of other people.
So here we go – 7 tips to help you use Facebook Live to help build your Facebook (and online) presence.
I’m going to do this myself, and that’s why I’m going to share my strategy with you today!
1. Do a daily/regular FB live so you can get your audience used to you showing up. And then they will show up too. Set a time of day if you can, and that will help people to log in when they expect you to come on.
2. Invite people. Make sure you tell people on your other platforms when you’ll be live. It’s all about interaction. You don’t want to be online by yourself, and giving them a heads up will help boost your audience.
3. Pick interesting things to FB Live about (is that a verb? Let’s go with it!). Make sure that whatever you are presenting is congruent with your marketing message. If you are sending out a notification, include your topic!
4. Include a call to action to a great resource in your livefeed (oh that’s the word to use!) so your people can go and learn more about whatever you talk about once you’re done. If you give away a free resource every day you will build an audience very quickly. And it will get your audience used to a call to action!
5. Be personable and friendly, not silly. Make sure you don’t leave anyone hanging – welcome them, mention them by name, thank them. Especially when you first get started. You want people to come back again and again! Act professional. Don’t apologize for mistakes. It’s still business!
And one last bonus tip – Practice!
So I really will see you online – I’m starting next week!
