Are You Blogging To Promote Your VA Business?

Blogging is an easy way to promote your VA business – it takes a bit of practice to get it right, but consistent blogging helps you create regular content, showcase your expertise, and drive traffic to your website – free!

Here’s how simple it is:

When you write just one blog post a week, you will be creating new content for your VA website. And that content can be repurposed to use in your other marketing initiatives, like social media.

The search engines love new content. When you publish a new article, Google and other search engines recognize that as a new page on your website, and they index it as such. This helps your website show up higher in search listings. Of course you also have to make sure you are writing quality articles using SEO.

One 500 word blog post is all it takes, and when you write regularly this is simple to do every single week. Repurpose the article to create images and shorter posts that you can share to your social media channels too.

Your blog should be about what you know – your expertise. Your audience is your potential Virtual Assistant clients, so you want to write about things that are interesting to them.

But because you are the one writing the blog posts, people will recognize that you are the expert on the subject matter of the articles. So write about what you know!

Clients who will hire you as their Virtual Assistant will almost always check you out online when they connect with you. By writing regular blog posts, they can look through your website to verify that you know your stuff – and that you are the VA they should be working with.

One of the most important things about blogging is to make sure you include a Call to Action (CTA) at the end of each blog post. You need to have each blog post work for you, and the way to do that is to tell the reader what you want them to do next. That’s the purpose of a CTA.

So you tell them to book a call with you, or read another similar blog post, or download a complimentary handout or worksheet, and so on. When they are prompted to take an action at the end of the article (they obviously liked it if they read to the end!), they often do.

Blogging may seem like a really time-consuming way to market your business, but when you realize many of the things that it contributes to – and you organize yourself so that you can do it regularly and efficiently, it can be an excellent tool to get the word out about how you help your clients.
