The magic happens outside your comfort zone. But many Virtual Assistants choose to stay well within their comfort zone because it feels better.
Doing things that we don’t feel comfortable doing is hard.
Maybe it causes us anxiety.
Maybe we feel unsure or lack confidence.
Maybe we are afraid to make a mistake.
But when we do the same things every day, we get the same results.
In order for our business to grow – and for us to grow as a business owner, we need to push ourselves.
When you feel like there is something that you really want – that’s your sign that it’s time to get moving.
So what do we have to do to get out of our comfort zone?
You first need to know where you want to go.
You need to decide what you need to do to get there.
And you need to get the support you need to start moving forward.
Where Do You Want To Go?
Whether you want to increase your rates, create packages, have clients start paying in advance, change your services, or get new clients, we all have things we want to achieve. And these things are often things we have never achieved before. So that can make it scary … uncomfortable. But knowing what you want is the first step!
What Do You Need to Do to Get There?
Plan your steps to get to where you want to go. Of course if what you want is something you’ve never done before, you may not know what it takes to get there. But having a plan is one of the most important parts of getting what you want. So you need to figure out what you need to do. Do some research, find the step by step process, and get your plan in place.
What Support Do You Need?
Doing anything that doesn’t feel normal or comfortable requires support. At least it helps to get support when you aren’t feeling 100% confident. What kind of support do you need? An accountability partner, some colleagues, a coach, are all great options for support. Telling people what you want to do helps a lot – and getting their support is even better. Surround yourself with people who are doing what you want to do – and you’ll see better success.
Getting out of your comfort zone is hard – but it doesn’t have to be when you put the plan together and get moving.
When you start to walk the path, you may have to push, but it will end up pulling you when you start to move. And the pull is exciting!
Surround yourself with people who are doing what you want to do – and you’ll see better success.
