Taming the Email Monster

Last year I switched my email from Outlook Express (that downloaded onto my computer) to webmail. I had started to travel more and it made sense for me to have access to my stuff anywhere I was. But one problem occurred – I found that I didn’t keep a handle on how much email was actually in my inbox, simply because it wasn’t taking up space on my computer anymore. I used to delete mass amounts of email at the end of every month when I used Outlook Express. Well, occasionally I still do that with my webmail, but not often enough. I find it frustrating to search through my email to find stuff I need when there is just… Read More »Taming the Email Monster

Favourite Tools for Virtual Assistants: GQueues – Helping Me Stay Organized

I wrote a post last year about GQueues as a business resource, and I thought I would take an opportunity to give you a few tips on how to use it well in your business. GQueues is a simple task management system I came upon that integrates with Google Calendar – a tool I already use to keep track of many things in my business and personal schedule. I have a queue set up for each of my clients, and also for each of my business – so that I can track projects and tasks and other things like invoice, payments, production calls and so on. The system is quick to set up, and easy to manage. Here’s a screenshot… Read More »Favourite Tools for Virtual Assistants: GQueues – Helping Me Stay Organized

A Quick and Easy Follow Up System – To Build Your VA Business

I recently taught a teleclass called How to Create and Implement a Follow Up System. In it, I teach how to get an idea of what you need to think about when you are strategizing your follow up, what you need to have in place, and how to manage it all so that you can keep on top of all of the contacts you make on a regular basis. If you don’t have a follow up system in place, you are more than likely leaving money on the table. Think about it – why do you spend so much time networking if you aren’t going to follow up? The mantra in marketing is that it takes between 5 and 7… Read More »A Quick and Easy Follow Up System – To Build Your VA Business

What’s Your Earning Potential as a Virtual Assistant?

One of the questions I get asked often is how much money a VA can make. Well, the answer to that question is similar to the answer to this one: how long is a piece of string? The fact is that when you are a small business owner, you are the one in control of how much you earn in your business. If you want to have a small, part time business that allows you to be at home for your family and work around a busy schedule, then you can choose to do that. If you want to work full time as a solopreneurs, and work only during regular business hours, and you just want to replace the income… Read More »What’s Your Earning Potential as a Virtual Assistant?

5 Tips to Selecting the Perfect Coach for You

As people start to realize that I offer coaching services to Virtual Assistants, the question always arises: how do I know who is the right coach for me? This is great question. First of all, it’s important to realize that your coach has to be a good fit for you. Just because someone is a well-known coach does not mean that working with them will be a good investment for you. You need to make sure of several things before you take the plunge. 1. What is their area of specialty? It’s essential to know what they offer as their specialty – because if it’s not a fit for what you need right now, then it might not be the… Read More »5 Tips to Selecting the Perfect Coach for You

Your VA Mentor: How to Get 3 New Clients in 60 Days

How to Get 3 New VA Clients in 60 Days

I am halfway through my Earn 50K as a VA Bootcamp and in our lessons we have arrived at Getting Clients. This is such a big part of being in business, but yet a lot of VAs just don’t know where to go to find clients. In fact, it’s one of the questions I am asked most often in my networking circles – where do I find clients? It’s not as hard as you think, but it has to start out with a plan – and a strategy. First of all, you know you should also be networking. You should always be connecting with new people (who could potentially be your clients) and you should always be following up with… Read More »How to Get 3 New VA Clients in 60 Days

Your VA Mentor: Clear Your Brain Fog - and Bump Up Your Brain Power!

Clear Your Brain Fog – and Bump Up Your Brain Power!

I have been in ‘clean up’ mode lately. Part of that is due to the fact that I just rolled out a new program (my 50K VA Bootcamp). When I am building content for a program, I tend to grab all of my old notes from things I have taught before, as well as my ‘swipe’ file that contains new ideas that I want to implement in the program. In short, I kind of pull a lot of papers and books out of their hiding places. Once you do something like that, you can see just what it is you have been holding onto, and you can make the decision to use it or lose it. I made the decision… Read More »Clear Your Brain Fog – and Bump Up Your Brain Power!
